Still Life in Black and White
Fifth grade students have been studying still life art by many artists such as Paul Cezanne, Frida Kahlo, and Janet Fish. Students were given the problem of drawing a still life composition from observation, creating form through the use of shadows and shading. They were also challenged to create an illusion of depth through overlap and shading. Below is an still life by Joshua.
